This 70mm bore system allows optimum power and torque to be achieved.
The factory system weighs 14.7Kgs. Take a good look at the image of the OEM internals - you can see the restrictive nature of the silencer when the valve is closed. When the valve is "open", the gases are guided through the 63.5mm perforated section - too small for a +350bhp motor.
The 2bular system weighs 12.5Kgs. I designed it for a "Road" car. With the valve closed, the exhaust gases are fed through a perforated section for "quiet "- ish operation. It's a big silencer, the perforated section is still straight-thru with no restriction other than it being 63.5mm. You won't upset your neighbours or attract unwanted attention driving through town/suburbs.
When the valve is "open", the exhaust gases pass through the 70mm diameter plain pipe in the silencer - there is no silencing effect at all. The sound cannot be replicated accurately on the internet/youtube. The big 70mm bore helps it to scream/wail as only an open-exhaust V6 motor can - it's very special and I'm well-pleased as I thought the factory exhaust sound was excellent.
I think the OEM trapezoidal tip is hideous. The standard 2bular layout is now the twin 100m dia tips you see in the images alongside.
90mm dia Titanium tips or 100mm dia Carbon tips are options.
